Stay Soft Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup cocoa

  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 1 teaspoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  • Combine cocoa, cornstarch, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Add milk, cook slowly over a low heat stirring constantly. When thickened, remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Cool before spreading on cake.
  • Enough to frost 9 inch round cake. Double recipe for larger cakes
