Cheese Strudel

Ingredients

  • Filling
  • 4 packages (3 ounce size) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 egg yolks

  • 1/2 cup light raisins

  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel

  • Dough
  • 4 sheets puff pastry dough

  • Melted butter

  • Graham cracker crumbs

Directions

  • For the filling, combine cream cheese, sugar and egg yolks and beat at medium speed until well-blended. Stir in raisins and lemon peel. Refrigerate.
  • Separate four sheets of pastry dough onto a damp cloth and brush with melted butter and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. Layer two sheets together and spread 1/2 of filling on one end of dough and roll loosely (if too tight, they will split.)
  • Bake at 375* for 50-55 minutes or until deep golden brown. Remove from pan to a wire rack and cool at least 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
