Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 3 cups flour

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons sugar

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • Filling
  • 4 eggs

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups Karo Syrup

  • 3 Tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350* and grease a jelly roll pan. Beat flour, sugar, butter and slat in a big bowl until crumbly. Press firmly into pan and bake until light brown, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Prepare filling and pour and spread evenly over baked layer. Bake until filling is set, about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
