Ingredients

  • Meatballs
  • 1 pound finely ground pork sausage

  • 1 pound ground chuck

  • Minced garlic to taste

  • Two eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup cracker crumbs

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Sauce
  • 2 – 8 ounce cans tomato sauce

  • 1 – 6 ounce can tomato paste

  • 6 ounces water

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

  • 1 pinch each of dried oregano, basil, thyme, marjoram

  • 4-5 dashes of Tabasco or hot sauce

  • 1/2 slice bacon, cut into three pieces

Directions

  • For the meatballs, mix all ingredients and blend together. Make small 1/2 inch balls and set aside.
  • For the sauce, combine all ingredients in a very large saucepan. Drop balls into sauce and simmer covered for 2 1/2 hours.
